Fifteen years ago, our paths first crossed during a treatment team meeting. After a few encounters, Terry finally worked up the courage to ask for my number, and we became friends. Life, as it often does, took us in different directions, and years passed. Though we lost touch for stretches of time, we always found our way back to check in on one another.

Fast forward to 2023—Terry called me with a story that changed everything. While sitting in his truck, deep in prayer, he asked God for guidance about his future. In that moment of clarity, God placed me on his heart, and he knew he had to take a chance.

Given our history, I wasn’t about to make it easy for him. I jokingly told him he would have to submit an application to date me—and then endure a seven-month interview process to prove his sincerity. But this time, something was different. He was intentional. He was serious. And on January 26, he was officially promoted to my man.

From that moment on, his heart was set on one thing—making me his wife. On August 3, 2024, in front of our loved ones at my brother and sister-in-law’s birthday party, Terry got down on one knee and asked me to be his forever.

He set the date, and now here we are—planning our wedding and building the future that was always meant to be.
